Shoes

The only equipment you need for dancing is a pair of very comfortable shoes that allow you to pivot (turn easily and don't stick to the floor).

Look in your closet for shoes with hard leather soles.  Cowboy boots, old wing tips, and bowling shoes work well.  Another idea is to have a shoe repair shop glue suede to the bottom of your most comfortable shoes.

Or you can get a pair of dance shoes that usually have suede bottoms.  They range in price from about $50 for dance sneakers (my favorites) to $150.  Here are some places you can find dance shoes:

Petticoat Junction in Lynnwood

There are also many online stores.  But, at least at first, I suggest you try them on before buying.  You want good fitting, comfortable shoes.
